Opportunities for Educators

How we collaborate with and support teachers & educators

Artist Karen Hall leads a CPD session for teachers at The Point in Doncaster

CPD and Training

We are committed to providing high quality, hands on learning opportunities for Doncaster teachers. Our professional artists include musicians, photographers, visual artists, film-makers, dancers, writers and drama practitioners and all have a wealth of experience – both in their own art form and in engaging children and young people in creative activity.

Our artists deliver excellent CPD for teachers – sharing tips and tricks both in teaching the artform itself and in using creative approaches across the whole curriculum. Sessions can be delivered in school as part of a teacher training day, or teachers can engage in our ongoing programme of events normally delivered at our home, The Point, in central Doncaster. Sessions are designed to be fun and immersive, inviting teachers to take part rather than sit and listen. Artists are also adept at building confidence in teachers so that they feel able to teach a certain subject or to use a creative approach in a non-arts curriculum topic.

Current CPD opportunities can be found on our What’s On pages here, or sign up to our Teacher E-newsletter to get new opportunities direct to your inbox.

Below are our School Arts Network resources, created by Core Artist Alex and designed to share how you can use some simple movement exercises in your classroom to help your pupils burn off energy and focus on their learning.

I learnt new sketchbook techniques, warm up drawing ideas, combining art with practicing times tables/ fractions and spellings.

I’m very glad I came, feeling very inspired and excited to do some of these projects with my pupils because it was clear how I can link it to the curriculum and my topics, Thank you!
