Creative Directions group creates sculptures inspired by exhibition
From 15 January – 19 March 2022 the gallery at The Point hosted ‘Georgia O’Keeffe: Memories of Drawings’, a Hayward Gallery Touring exhibition from The Southbank Centre, London.
Georgia O’Keeffe’s iconic works often feature rural landscapes and organic forms and she broke new ground for women artists. This exhibition showcased 21 prints of drawings produced by the artist between 1915-1963; the period in which O’Keeffe established herself as a major figure in American Modernism.
Participants from our Creative Directions group took inspiration from the works on display to produce a series of large-scale flower sculptures created from natural materials, with expert guidance from artist Angie Hardwick.
