dash for darts

Help us go the distance and hit our fundraising goal!
Sponsor us here!
This November, a group of keen runners from the darts team are taking part in Doncaster City 10k, all in the name of fundraising for the fantastic arts programmes we run at our home, The Point, and in communities across the borough.
Can you help us hit our fundraising target of £1,000?
Every year, Doncaster City 10k sees thousands of runners coming together and hitting the streets, each running for a whole host of reasons. Hosted by Curly’s Athletes and taking place at Doncaster Racecourse, it’s set to be a day to remember. Several years ago, a small but sensational team from darts ran the Doncaster 10k to raise awareness and funds for our work. This year, we want to go the extra mile and hit our fundraising target of £1,000 to boost funding for our inspiring arts activities, designed and delivered so that everyone in Doncaster has access to fantastic creative opportunities, improving life, learning and health.
Fundraising Focus
Remaining free or low-cost and open to all is essential to the mission of all of our programmes, enabling access to the arts and an essential creative outlet for many people who might never otherwise be able to take part in opportunities like Art Club or Singing for Memory, or discover new skills through art. As a participatory arts charity we rely solely on fundraising to continue our much-needed work across communities in Doncaster, and the programme can only continue to run due to generous donations from trusts, foundations and community champions. Any donation – whether big or small – makes a huge difference and means that we can keep providing essential and accessible activities for those that need them the most.
- £10 could pay for enough clay for 25 children to sculpt their own 3D art works, supporting them to develop their creative skillset as well as developing coordination and motor skills.
- £50 could pay for someone in Doncaster living with Dementia to attend a Singing for Memory with a family carer, providing them with the opportunity to spend quality time together and build essential support networks.
- £100 could pay for a young person with Autism to attend Swag Choir for a month, improving their confidence, communication skills and expanding their social circle through inspiring music and performance sessions.
However much you contribute – whether a little or a lot – your donation makes a huge difference and helps us to continue our work providing essential creative opportunities for people in Doncaster who have the least access to the arts. Help us make an impact in your local community. Sponsor our team of runners here, or why not become a regular donor and help make a difference every month.
Why not set up your own fundraising event for darts?
Put the ‘fun’ into fundraising! The next time you arrange a get-together with friends and family, why not turn it into a coffee morning, with the proceeds going to darts to support our programmes? If you’re the sporty type, you could hit the trails and organise a sponsored cycle to support the programmes we run across Doncaster communities. Or, if you’re connected to a local business in Doncaster, why not have a chat about how you can make darts your Charity of the Year? There are countless ways you could fundraise for darts, and help make positive change in your local community. To find out more about how you could get stuck in and do your bit for darts, check out our community fundraising page here.
