How to book places on workshops from January 2019
In 2019, we’ll be making some changes to our booking system for the sessions and workshops we run at The Point. In order to test out the process and learn from it, we’ll be taking it step-by-step – please do be patient with us! We welcome feedback about your user experience.
The information below should answer your questions about how to book places from January onwards.
How do we book for workshops in January, February and March?
Bookings will open for the first 2019 workshops on Friday 4 January. Please telephone our Front of House team as before on 01302 341662 or pop into The Point to book your place.
We will be taking bookings for:
- Tuesday Art Club: 15 Jan – 12 Feb [recreate yourself in 3D as a comic book hero with Dan Jones]
- Saturday Family Workshop: 2 Feb [make Valentine-inspired cards with Samantha Groom]
- Holiday Family Workshop: 21 Feb [ learn DJ and music tech with Rob Pearson]
- Tuesday Art Club: 26 Feb – 26 March [create miniature collage and montage worlds with Anna Bean]
- Saturday Family Workshop: 2 March [use specialist equipment to make prints with Dizzy Ink]
Booking for family workshops and Tuesday Art Clubs beyond this point will open at a later date.
All other darts sessions (currently Swaglets, Swag, Quirky Choir, Creative Directions, Dance On, Singing for Memory and In the Moment) will remain as they are.
Please note that we will now be making a small charge for the Saturday Family Workshops (£4 per family) and Tuesday Art Club (£2 per child).
You can pop into The Point and pay this at the reception desk either by cash or cheque (payable to darts (Doncaster Community Arts).
You have two weeks from the point of booking to pay for your workshop, otherwise your place will be offered to someone else. If you are booking less than two weeks before the workshop, you will have a week to pay. If you are offered a place from the waiting list, you will be able to pay on the day.
Family Saturday Family Workshops are priced at £4 per family. This includes 2 children and 2 adults. Each additional child is priced at £2.
Once you have paid for your workshop, we cannot offer refunds. If you are unable to attend, however, do let us know as soon as possible by telephoning reception on 01302 341662 so that the place can be offered to someone on the waiting list.
Tuesday Art Club
When we move to the new Online Booking System, you will only be able to book a full block of Tuesday Art Club Activity (e.g. 30th April – 21st May). This means you will have booked a weekly place for the entire monthly block.
In January, February and March, we encourage you to attend in the same manner – book and attend a full block rather than coming along once or twice. The Art Clubs are designed to develop young people’s skills over the monthly period so they will get more out of it by coming to the entire block!
Online Booking System
We are hoping to launch our Online Booking System in mid-February for our April and May activity. You will be able to make bookings for both free and priced workshops through the What’s On pages of our website.
There are some useful FAQs on our website with other information about our sessions including a guide for families here.
If you have any questions, feedback or suggestions, do contact us on 01302 341662 or have a chat with a member of the Front of House team on reception.
