Jazz masterclasses from some of the nation’s best loved musicians
DYJA and Ronnie Scott's Charitable Foundation aim to get Yorkshire region’s young jazz musicians engaged in music
Are you interested in learning more about jazz? Doncaster Youth Jazz Association are partnering with the Ronnie Scott’s Charitable Foundation for their jazz education season – a series of jazz masterclasses with some of the nation’s best loved musicians including Quentin Collins (trumpet), Lee Gibson (vocals), Dennis Rollins (trombone) and Tristan Banks (drums and percussion).
DYJA are also proud to be launching the ‘Trombones on the Slide’ project led and directed by Dennis Rollins. A 16 week programme will take primary school children from local primary schools that have never played the trombone and turn them from complete novices to budding maestros! Launching at the beginning of January this project is aimed at encouraging a new wave of young musicians interested in this unique and sadly declining instrument.
All sessions are free to attend and open to anyone wanting to learn more about jazz.
