John: my Creative Directions story

John, a Creative Directions participant, tells us what has supported him through lockdown

Two men doing arts and crafts in a Creative Directions session at The Point.

John (not his real name) has been shielding since the start of lockdown in March.

When our Participation Co-ordinator Jamie safely delivered a creative activities book to him, John spoke about what has helped him through lockdown:

“The only things that have kept me going are the online group activities and involvement through darts. It’s great that you’ll be visiting every month”

John and our Creative Directions participants have just received their next creative activities book, produced by artist Anna Bean and poet Lydia Allison.

We’ll continue to safely deliver books to participants every month so adults experiencing mental health issues can enjoy being creative from home.

See the fantastic work created in response to our book by Poet Ian McMillan and Glenn Thornley from Eleven Design: Creative Directions Books – Home.
