The Café at The Point is an important part of our participant and visitor experience, providing a welcoming social space where people feel at home. We are looking for someone who is experienced, motivated, and proactive to join us in the role of Café Manager and provide a friendly and high-quality service. You will assist the Front of House and Facilities Manager in leading a small team to deliver The Point’s Café, events and conferencing offer.

You will ensure that all visitors receive a warm welcome to The Point and enjoy an inviting and pleasing visit. Your role will be critical in ensuring we deliver a sustainable Café and catering service that provides high quality food in a safe and inviting environment.

You will assist the Front of House and Facilities Manager in the development of our menu offers, food presentation and drink selection, with a focus on local accruement and healthy eating options. You will also help devise conferencing menus and deliver fresh and exciting catering for space hires and one-off events.

The successful candidate will have a focus on improving efficiency and gross profits, with a view to increasing revenue to helping to support the exciting and important programmes that darts delivers at The Point and in local communities.

Looking ahead, you will be integral to our plans to adapt and grow the Café and catering offer at The Point, ensuring the offer develops with the needs of the organisation and our changing city.

We want to work with someone who has excellent customer service skills and understanding of food hygiene, with an ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and empathetically with a diverse customer base. You will be able to collaborate and will enjoy supporting others.  We need someone who is eager to learn and develop their skills, to use their initiative, and to demonstrate honesty and integrity.

This role would suit an experienced candidate who is looking for something new, or a keen early career applicant wanting to learn in the post.

Salary: £25,202 (full time) 35 hours a week – flexibility in working patterns and some evening and Saturday shifts required.
