Opportunity: 2018-19 Reception/KS1 music programme

darts (Doncaster Community Arts) jointly leads Doncaster Music Education Hub which is funded by Arts Council England, supporting schools to deliver the National Plan for Music.

Key Stage 1 music provision has been identified as a need by many of our partner schools and to help us support this we are offering 2 schools the opportunity to take part in a free regular programme of professional music educator led sessions over the academic year 2018-19.

The programme will focus on improving communication and the impact of learning music on speaking and listening.

The music sessions will consist of fun, creative music sessions based on the principles of Kodaly music education.  The Kodaly approach to music education instils the basic building blocks of music (beat, rhythm, pitch etc), needed to cover the KS1 music curriculum and beyond, through a series of singing games, activities and the use of simple classroom instruments.

Schools can find more information on the opportunity and on the sessions here.

To express your interest, please complete an application form and send it to Sophie at SRegan@thepoint.org.uk.
