darts is a trusted and experienced partner, taking the lead on significant successful collaborative programmes alongside our own pioneering work
We have been lead partner on Doncaster’s Creative People and Places project for seven years, engaging over 150,000 adults in creative activity and empowering a network of community members to become producers, makers and programmers. We will continue to play an active role as a consortium member of Right Up Our Street as it delivers its third phase of activity.
We are joint lead partner on Doncaster Music Education Hub alongside Doncaster Music Service and we work collaboratively to provide amazing music-making opportunities for all of Doncaster’s children and young people. From trying out a ukulele for the first time to performing at the Albert Hall, our non-traditional routes into music inspire a new generation of musicians and performers.
We believe that the arts have an invaluable role to play in people’s physical and mental health and wellbeing. darts chairs Doncaster’s Arts and Health Board and works alongside key partners in the health sector including Doncaster Public Health, Clinical Commissioning Group, Social Prescribing Service and RDaSH (Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber) NHS Foundation Trust. We are currently developing arts on prescription models focused on mental health, dementia and physical activity in older people, directly responding to population need. Creative delivery is also provided by cultural partners, Cast and Heritage Doncaster and evidence of our impacts is fed into the Borough Strategy.
We are passionate about the role that the arts and creativity can play in improving educational attainment and providing essential life skills, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. We are founder members of Doncaster Cultural Education Partnership and run Doncaster Primary Teachers Network, providing excellent CPD opportunities to give teachers the confidence to embed creativity into their practice.
We are also founder members of EXPECT Youth Alliance – a partnership of high quality delivery organisations who collaborate to provide positive activities and personal development opportunities for children and young people across the Doncaster borough.
Our cafe at The Point is run in partnership with Doncaster Conferences, Catering and Events – the trading arm of Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust. We work closely with a number of likeminded local businesses to develop and strengthen our work in the borough.
