The time given by our volunteers is incredibly valuable and vital for our work. We have a core team of around 25 volunteers, whose support includes weekly volunteering in our regular creative sessions, weekend and holiday workshops or being an essential part of the team at events.
Volunteering is a great way to gain experience, meet new people, further a career and give something back to the community. We are committed to providing opportunities for people to develop their skills and provide a range of training and social events to ensure that our team is always learning and growing.
We also support participants to become Peer Volunteers. This means that when people feel confident enough, they can take on more responsibility in a group setting. They may support artists to set up and take registers or support other participants who are feeling particularly anxious or vulnerable.
Being given trust and the responsibility of a group gave me a role to fill, something to grow into, and a much bigger sense of achievement I never really had before. – darts volunteer
Interested in becoming a volunteer?
We look for volunteers who are over 16 and passionate about the arts, with good communication skills and a friendly attitude. You can get involved in a range of work such as supporting artists and participants in creative workshops, assisting at events and launches, and welcoming people to The Point.
More information can be found in our information pack – you can download it here.
You’ll then need to fill in an application form and email it over to Sophie at email@example.com.
We’ll then contact you and if we think we have something to offer you, we’ll invite you to The Point for an informal interview. If successful, you’ll receive a copy of our Volunteer Handbook and you’ll be booked into the next Welcome Session.
Please note that we are not able to support any work experience opportunities, placements or apprenticeships at the moment.
If you have any questions at all about volunteering or filling in the application form, please get in touch with Sophie on 01302 558043 or firstname.lastname@example.org
