Polly is dawdling for darts ’26!
Read why Polly is fundraising for us
Hi, I’m Polly and I’m 9 years old.
I love art, taking on challenges, my family and my pets. I love reading, and my favourite book so far is ‘Cat Mummy’ by Jacqueline Wilson. My snack that I’ll bring on my 10K walk will be flapjacks (homemade by me!) and a protein bar and I’ll be listening to Taylor Swift to keep me going! Especially the song ‘Lover’, that’s our family song.
I’m fundraising for darts because I want to help them do more creativity to help people. I think creativity is important because it’s for everyone and you never know what might happen, you might make something new that helps people around the world and that makes the world a better place! I picked darts because you help people to be understood and it’s amazing how much creativity you use.
My mummy works for darts, helping so many different people. I want to be an artist and graphic designer when I get older and darts have already helped me to grow that confidence, when I go to art sessions or visit The Point, so I would like to do something kind back, to say thank you.
I managed to climb Mam Tor with my Pop Pops, just for fun. I wanted a bigger challenge and to push myself even more! The fact that I love art linked to darts, so the 10K challenge felt really related to me, to bring my creativity and a challenge together.
I’m glad darts exists because you can express yourself through creativity there and feel happy, and it helps people in the world. Creativity helps the world, I think that’s the main reason the world became the way it is, because of creativity, so I want to help give creativity to people who need it the most, to be happy and live amazing lives. I know darts can help do this.
If you would like to support Polly’s dawdle for darts, where she will be walking 10K to raise money for our programmes, you can donate here.
