The Royal Ballet supports Over 50s to Dance On

Dance On participants enjoyed dancing with The Royal Ballet at home

6 women from darts' Dance On sessions dancing at home

Many of our wonderful Dance On participants recently took part in Doncaster Dances – a Royal Ballet production in partnership with Cast and Doncaster Council.

Using online resources from the Royal Opera House, alongside virtual direction from the Royal Ballet, participants learned routines inspired by Kenneth Macmillan’s Romeo and Juliet ballet.

The production was a great way for participants to enjoy dancing and movement at home, during this isolating and challenging time.

Alongside the Doncaster Dances production, participants have been taking part in a wide range of Dance On activities at home, from live Zoom sessions to YouTube tutorials with professional dancers.

One participant told us:

The online classes are just what I needed in lockdown. Dance Artist Charlie is very easy to follow and good fun! I will definitely be doing this every day

Our online classes continue throughout October, inspiring adults over 50 to feel good and keep moving from home.
