Your Doncaster Sounds

Here are the newest pieces produced by our We Create Zoom group, with artists Moony Wainwright and Gary Hammond. Inspired by Heritage Doncaster’s Your Doncaster Sounds exhibition, participants made these short soundscapes about their Doncaster musical memories and what music means to them.

The soundscapes came out of conversations about musical memories – from dancing in the kitchen to amateur dramatics to photographing live music. The group talked about their favourite songs, musical memories and the different places they’ve seen live music in Doncaster.

We Create: Mexborough ran from March 2020 – June 2022 and was a partnership project with Cast & Heritage Doncaster, funded by Doncaster CCG. Find out more about We Create: Mexborough here.
